UPLIFT Young Adult “Alive in the Spirit” Talk | May 15
Join us for our final UPLIFT Young Adult for the year on May 15th at Old Saint Mary from 2:30 – 4:00 PM. Hear from legendary man, husband, and father Pete Burds, the Director of Evangelization at the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, as he presents “Alive in the Spirit”, and the unique invitation to living out our faith as young adults! RSVP at tinyurl.com/upliftyoungadults2021-22 for food and beverage purposes or email Nino Rebholz at nrebholz@ffpmke.org with any questions.
Pancake Breakfast | May 22
You like pancakes, we like pancakes, everybody likes pancakes. Okay, maybe we’re projecting, but who doesn’t want to down some fresh flapjacks while supporting the St. Robert’s/Holy Family Parish high school mission trip? This is the moment you’ve been waiting for.
Healing the Whole Person: Engaging Your Story | 24 May
We’re a broken record on this whole healing thing, we know. Just remember you can’t outrun yourself, which is who Jesus (whose name literally means “God saves”) came to rescue. Start by engaging your story with the same content Fr. John Burns preaches to religious orders across the country, or what Sr. Miriam speaks to thousands of people at the Healing the Whole Person retreats. This series is being piloted at four parishes across the Archdiocese, St. Robert’s being one of them. Sign up here and begin living as one fully alive.
Dude’s Mission Day + Paintballing | 28 May
Dudes, your mission, should you choose to accept it: break down some barriers, do something physical, get outside your comfort zone, learn more about yourself, embrace your masculinity, and bond with your brothers. Join us all day Saturday, 28 May for: Mass, coffee, a ruck to an abandoned warehouse, some urban paintball, and a holy hour and dinner. RSVP here and be sure to start target practicing on Fr Baum’s new whip before his auto insurance kicks in.
Fiat Ministries Young Women’s Retreat | 3-5 June
Ladies, join other young women for a weekend retreat with Fiat Ministries, featuring sisters from multiple religious communities. Hosted at Milwaukee’s Schoenstatt retreat center, listen to ten different sisters from at least five communities share their stories and see how it impacts your heart.
Fides Patrum Seminar at Via Coffee House | 4 June
Join other young adults at the Panther Catholic Newman Center (3001 N. Downer) for 9a Mass followed by Via Coffee House and the final Fides Patrum seminar until Fall. Word on the street is that Josh Miller is absconding to Europe for the summer to avoid answering formerly-Man-Bun-Josh’s questions on the Church Fathers, so we’ll be waiting for him to return once Marquette inquires as to the location of their PhD candidate. Anyway, the group will read and discuss two patristic homilies for Pentecost by two of the great "Holy Hierarchs" (as they're known) of Eastern Christianity: Gregory "the Theologian" and John "Golden-mouthed" (how's that for epithets?). Come on 4 June to kick off the celebration of Pentecost a day early with some of the best names in the Christian biz. And if you'd like access to the homilies in advance, feel free to email Josh (joshrmiller11@gmail.com).
Duderonomy Dinner & Other Dude’s Events | 4 June
Dudes, it’s an action-packed summer ahead. If you haven’t gotten the email from El Dude, hit us up to be added to the distro. Either way, mark your calendars for the Duderonomy Dinner (#1, so it’s like a series or something) Saturday, 4 June. Event description: Dudes bein’ guys, eatin’ food, and livin’ masculine lives. A Duderonomy classic. Standby for the RSVP link via the Team Duderonomy distro. Also included:
Duderonomy Dinner 2 (Saturday July 9th): Dudes bein' guys, eatin' food, and livin' masculine lives. A duderonomy classic, part deux.
WI River Canoe Trip (July 22-24): Paddle and prayer, football on a sandbar, and Mass with a canoe as an altar - you're a sad excuse of a dude if you don't attend (Fr Baum's words, not ours)
Milwaukee River Paddle and Prayer (Date TBD, but August or September): A lil day tripper along the MKE River for those who can't make the WI river trip and like their water a little dirtier (we are not responsible for mutations caused by said river water)
St. Stan’s Young Adult Talk | 6 June
Join the young adults of St. Stanislaus on 6 June for Mass at 6p followed by a talk from Fr. Cliff Ermatinger on St. Michael the Archangel. Please park in the lot off 6th street and see you there!
Cor Jesu 10 Year Anniversary Mass + Party | 8 June
Invite absolutely everyone you know to this blowout celebration, whether they haven’t missed a Wednesday or only went once. We’ve got a full schedule on the docket including: a picnic outside the Church beforehand starting at 5:30p, Adoration & Praise and Worship music at 7p, Mass at 8p, and live music, drinks, and desserts at 9p. Word on the street is that Fr. Baum will serenade everyone with a rendition of Wonderwall from atop his new ride at the social, which you also don’t want to miss.
