Merry Christmas! There’s just barely enough time for us to still say that. Amidst the hectic-ness of the holiday season, we got a little behind on our Cor ad Cor planning so this month’s newsletter is a little light on content - but we still wanted to get out news about upcoming events, so we’re rolling with it!
This is also a good time to reiterate that we welcome your submissions for this Eucharistic newsletter - we’re just a small squad here, and we’d love to feature your talents in this effort.
We do have one important item to highlight consistent with our Eucharistic theme… a new adoration opportunity! Starting this month on the second Saturday (so January 14), St. Robert will be offering overnight adoration. We’ll keep it up on Second Saturdays for as long as we can - but we need your help! Please consider signing up for an hour for this January. You can also submit any prayer intentions here.
Why overnight? Well…why not? It seems like we could throw in a reference to Matthew 26:40 here, but that’s probably a little cliché…instead we’ll just note that:
It’s often difficult for people to make it to common adoration times (like during business hours)
This is “easy” for our priests in that they don’t have to add something new to their schedules since they’ll already be at the Masses
There’s something exciting about a bit of a challenge (hopefully!)
Is that convincing enough that this is a good idea? We hope so! You can find some logistical information in the sign up. No pressure (okay, some pressure), but it’d be particularly great/helpful to get a solid core of young men in the church during those wee hours of the night…
For Your Calendar:
This is quite literally, for your calendar - you might want to add this free Liturgical Calendar to your digital schedule. It’s got all the most important dates along with little facts and ways to celebrate (geared primarily toward those with young children, but the ideas are still relevant for everyone!).
